Transformation Transitional Living is founded upon the lessons of lived experience, renewed sense of purpose, and deep belief that long-term sobriety consists of more than "not using."  We believe anyone can be happy to be sober, and that everyone gets sober in order to be happy.

After a decade of struggling with alcoholism and cycling through several clinical treatment centers, one of our founders reached a vital breaking point. Despite countless attempts, and seemingly endless application of coping skills, time and time again lasting sobriety proved elusive. The strictly reinforced rules of traditional sober living facilities were applied to each cycle of relapse, until finally in the depths of rock bottom, full surrender to the 12 steps of AA became the heart's chosen home. Up to that point it was the one path not yet given a chance, and it proved to be the key, only able to be found from  the vantage point of a completely different perspective than the one from which every drink had been swallowed; every binge hosted. The rules and structure of what would end up being the last one of those traditional sober living facilities, finally provided a secure launching point.  Simultaneously the decision to apply the 12 steps sparked a profound spiritual and personal transformation. An experience of truly living. At this transformational juncture, rather than choosing a promising, completely unrestricted independent housing opportunity, the decision was made to  move into a sobriety-supportive transitional living space.

The house was near a bus stop. The kitchen was clean and fully equipped, and the common areas and bedrooms furnished with comfortable modern furniture. Each room held one occupant. The Property Caretaker had over a decade of experience in addiction recovery services. Both voiced concern about the gap between traditional sober living/halfway houses and independent living:

There are many traditional sober living facilities, treatment and post-treatment centers, and there is an endless variety of opportunities for independent living.

Yet it seemed almost nothing existed to intentionally bridge the two.  The conversation kept leading to the same conclusion:  "We need more than a halfway house. We need a 3/4 house!"

From this shared enthusiasm Transformation Transitional Living was born.

We offer clean , structured and private environments where productive use of personal time is easily balanced with building sober networks and financial stability. A place to practice habits supportive of lasting sober independence. Our properties are designed for small groups of individuals who are ready to move not just into a house, but into the next chapter  of living. People who no longer need  the strict rules of a sober living facility, yet still benefit from  support in a daily practice of accountability within sober-supportive community

Welcome to the bridge between where you’ve been & where you truly want to be. Welcome to Transformation Transitional Living.
